Plataforma Continental Sudeste do Brasil (PCSE) s{\~a}o maiores
no inverno do que no ver{\~a}o. Uma possibilidade para explicar
tal variabilidade sazonal seria a migra{\c{c}}{\~a}o de
indiv{\'{\i}}duos do estoque bonaerense do sul (41-27°S) para o
norte (25-22°S).
                         superf{\'{\i}}cie do mar e da concentra{\c{c}}{\~a}o
ancho{\'{\i}}ta. ABSTRACT: The size of Argentine anchoita eggs
sampled in the north of the Southeastern Brazilian Bight (SBB) are
larger during the winter than during the summer. One explanation
for such seasonal variability is the northward migration of the
bonaerense stock individuals (with larger size) from high latitude
(41-27°S) to the north (25-22°S) of the SBB. To support this
hypothesis, maps of the Sea-surface temperature (SST) and the
surface chlorophyll-a concentration (CHL) obtained by satellite
data were analyzed. These images showed the northwards flow of
Plata Plume Water during the winter, which coincides with the
increase of the size of the Argentine anchoita eggs in the SBB.
This flow probably acted as a migration route for individuals of
the bonaerense spawning stock. Thus, satellite data helped to
support the hypothesis that different spawning stocks would be
causing seasonal variability in the size of the Argentine anchoita
                         eggs.",
